In addition to her clinical duties at The Center, she has been keynote/guest speaker at over 40 lectures and conferences.
She is also on the advisory boards of several pharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Simpkins has received the Ventura County Commission for Women's prestigious Achievement Award for Science and Health.
She enjoys writing poetry, listening to jazz, and has collaborated with the author and published a biography of jazz legend, saxophonist, John Coltrane.
